The author's biography.
Neil Wood possesses a unique combination of success as a professional athlete as well as a sales professional within the investment industry. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1976 for a four year assignment to Aviano, Italy. While representing his country, which required Top Secret Clearance, he learned about two activities that fascinated him; running for the peace of mind and investing in mutual funds for a healthier future.
More than thirty years later, Neil is still passionate about both.

During the early 1980s, Neil raced in marathons and other running races as a professional athlete. He qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in 1984 with a time of 2 hours and 17 minutes; an average of five minutes and thirteen seconds per mile for twenty-six miles. That record, set at the Clarence DeMar marathon, is still the New Hampshire state record today.
Neil realized that the skills he applied to become a successful athlete were the same skills that make business people successful. Both require discipline, a positive focus, persistence, goal setting, passion and sincere enthusiasm. This is what Neil refers to as the "recipe for success". Over the last twenty years, he has worked with top achievers in a variety of fields. The common denominator among the most successful achievers was simple to reproduce. They have made small positive changes in their habits and attitudes, which have produced exponential changes in their results.
Neil has enjoyed the last several years providing keynote presentations with a focus on practice management and working smarter. He has spoken in front of practically every major financial planning firm in the United States and has spoken to more than ten thousand salespeople.
